Our budget gaming desk setup: what we actually use
A look at the mouse, keyboard, headset and storage that live on our team desks — and why we chose them.
People often ask what we use day to day. Here's the honest answer: reliable, mid-priced gear that disappears while we work.
Mouse
A programmable gaming mouse with tunable weight is useful for design work as well as games. Extra buttons map to undo, redo and camera controls in our editors.
Keyboard
Mechanical switches feel better over long sessions. We prefer a wrist rest and per-key lighting for late builds.
Headset
Comfort matters more than anything else. A lightweight, durable headset gets worn all day.
Storage
Our build machines use NVMe drives. Faster storage shortens compile and import times, which adds up quickly across a team.
A programmable key pad
We use one for build scripts, screen recording and the occasional sound effect.
Our advice
Don't chase specs. Buy gear that is comfortable and reliable, and put the rest of your budget into good monitors and a decent chair.
